What You Can Do

Prepaid, postpaid, or hybrid: manage customer credit balances with full automation and auditability.
Customer Credit Pools
Each account gets a wallet that holds prepaid credits. Fund it via one-time purchases, recurring top-ups, or promotional grants. The balance is always visible through APIs and the admin UI.

Auto-Replenishment
Configure thresholds and refill strategies. When a wallet balance drops below a target amount, Kill Bill automatically generates a top-up invoice and collects payment, keeping service uninterrupted.

Usage Drawdown
As usage is metered and rated, charges are deducted from the wallet balance in real time. Pair with Aviate Metering for a complete prepaid usage billing flow.

Full Transaction Ledger
Every credit addition, deduction, and adjustment is recorded in an immutable ledger with timestamps and metadata. Real-time balance queries give finance teams instant visibility.

Integrated Invoicing
Credit purchases generate proper invoices and trigger payment collection through your configured gateway. The wallet is part of Kill Bill's invoicing engine, not a separate system.

Prepaid, Postpaid, or Hybrid
Use the wallet for pure prepaid models, traditional postpaid invoicing, or a hybrid where free credits are consumed first and overage is billed after. One platform, any model.

How It Works

From Credit Purchase to Usage Drawdown

1
Fund the Wallet
A customer purchases credits manually, or Kill Bill auto-replenishes when the balance drops below a threshold. An invoice is generated and payment collected through your gateway.
2
Consume and Debit
As the customer uses your service, metered events translate to charges that are drawn down from the wallet balance. The ledger records each debit with full traceability.
3
Report and Reconcile
Finance teams query real-time balances and transaction history through APIs or the admin UI. All wallet activity is part of the unified invoice and payment record.
Why Kill Bill

Why Teams Choose Kill Bill for Prepaid Credits

Positive Cash Flow
Collecting payment before usage eliminates bad debt risk and improves cash flow predictability. Customers pay upfront; you deliver against the balance.
Reduced Revenue Leakage
Every consumption event is tracked and debited. No more estimating usage or discovering billing gaps months later.
Seamless Customer Experience
Customers see transparent balances, understand their spending, and never experience surprise invoices. Auto-replenishment keeps service running without manual intervention.
Unified Billing Engine
The wallet is not a bolt-on. It is part of Kill Bill's invoicing and payment engine. Credits, invoices, and payments share the same data model and audit trail.
Promotional Credits
Grant free credits for onboarding, referral programs, or service recovery. Credits are tracked separately and drawn down according to your business rules.
Full Audibility
The immutable ledger provides a complete record of every credit transaction. Finance teams, auditors, and compliance officers have one source of truth.
FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Can customers see their credit balance in real time?
Yes. The Wallet API returns the current balance at any time. You can surface this in your application UI, customer portal, or admin dashboard. The Kaui admin interface also displays wallet balances.
What happens when the wallet balance reaches zero?
You control the behavior. Options include auto-replenishing the wallet (generating a new invoice and collecting payment), switching to postpaid invoicing for the remainder, or suspending service until the balance is restored. These policies are configurable per account.
Can I mix prepaid credits with recurring subscriptions?
Yes. A customer can have a recurring subscription that is invoiced normally, plus a wallet for usage-based charges. Both coexist on the same account and appear on the same invoice when configured that way.
Are credit transactions visible in audit logs?
Every wallet operation (credit, debit, adjustment, refund) is recorded in an immutable ledger. This ledger is accessible via API and through the admin UI. It provides the complete audit trail finance and compliance teams need.
